Financial Advisor
Joseph F. Hoover is a financial advisor with Allegheny Investments, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor.
Why did you choose financial planning as your profession?
At a young age, my grandmother introduced me to the stock market by buying each of her grandchildren 40 shares of Duquesne Light stock. We tracked its progress together in the Pittsburgh Press.
What types of client relationships do you find most rewarding, and why?
I enjoy working with clients who prioritize their portfolios without letting money control them, and who have a sound understanding of long-term investing and the power of compound interest.
What do you think are the most important steps people can take to improve their financial well-being?
The most crucial first step is to start saving early and allow compounding to work in your favor.
What are some important things to consider when choosing a financial advisor?
Trust is likely the most important factor when selecting a financial advisor. There will be challenging times and difficult conversations along the way. When a client has trust in their advisor, it helps tremendously during these tough moments.
