How do you help clients Invest in Peace of Mind?
I provide research, historical context, and factual information about investing and financial planning to my clients. My practice is made up of a service-oriented team dedicated to alleviating the various stresses associated with investing, wealth accumulation, and financial planning.
Why did you choose financial planning as your profession?
Initially, I aspired to be a stockbroker on Wall Street, but I soon learned that many client relationships were based on buying and selling. However, my goal shifted towards helping individuals plan for their financial futures. I wanted to build relationships that went beyond just managing portfolios, which led me to pursue a career in financial planning.
What types of client relationships do you find most rewarding, and why?
My favorite clients to work with are those who appreciate humor. Humor is important when dealing with clients, as financial and health issues can be significant stressors in their lives. Using humor helps lighten the mood and facilitates navigating these challenges.
What does a typical workday look like for you at Allegheny?
My typical workday at Allegheny involves assisting clients with various financial scenarios, including life decisions, family matters, and financial planning.
What are some important things to consider when choosing a financial advisor?
When selecting a financial advisor, consider these important factors: Meet with them personally. Trust your instincts; if you like and trust the person, you will take their advice seriously.
How do you like to spend time outside of the office?
I enjoy spending my time outside of the office on my farm, where I grow food and care for various animals.
What causes or community organizations are important to you?
My church, along with outreach, veteran, and first responder organizations.
Who is one of your heroes, and why do you admire them?
It might sound boring, but the person who influenced me the most was my father. He faced many challenges in life and worked diligently to support our family. He had a passion for charity work and was always my personal cheerleader during my moments of doubt. He never hesitated to share his thoughts, even when they were unpopular with me, and his guidance truly helped me grow in my faith.
