Trina Brown, CFP®, CSRIC®

Before joining AFG, Ms. Brown worked in the IT field, with experience in the legal, educational, energy, and health industries as well as international IT market research.

After nearly 20 years in the field, Ms. Brown left the IT world to pursue financial planning because she could see that there was an enormous need for sound, practical financial education and advice. She says, “So many people I worked with made good money but had nothing to show for it but car payments and Coach purses.” To that end, she completed the Executive Certificate in Financial Planning at Duquesne University in the spring of 2015 and joined Allegheny Financial Group later that year.

 

She is especially interested in behavioral finance and Sustainable and Responsible Investing (SRI), earning the Chartered SRI Counselor™ (CSRIC™) professional designation. The CSRIC™ designation is the first major financial credential dedicated specifically to sustainable investing. This course was developed by the College for Financial Planning in partnership with US SIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment — a leading voice for advancing sustainable investing across all asset classes in the United States.
