Pittsburgh, PA, November 17, 2015—Allegheny Financial Group announces a donation for the purchase of three Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs for Pittsburgh-area veterans who are suffering from disabilities such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury. A check was presented by Allegheny Financial Group partners at the 17th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast held at Duquesne University.
The Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania has launched a campaign with the goal to raise funds for the purchase of 22 Service Dogs over a period of 22 months through a partnership with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Inc. of Williston, FL. The purchase and training of one life-changing certified service dog is $22,000. A matching grant pledged by the Pittsburgh Foundation will cover funding needed for additional service dogs.
